Many believe close examination of the cannabis plants trichomes to be one of the better ways to determine if the plant has reached its full cannabinoid potential. Not only can the appearance of the trichome be an indicator of potency but also of the type of effect the finished product might produce. To actually see the developmental stage of the trichomes they’ll need to be viewed through high magnification. Sequoia Analytical Labs offers a foreign matter inspection, or FMI that not only will check for particulate contaminants, large colonies of mold, & insects but includes a digital picture taken at 40 x magnification. This allows growers to see for themselves where their plants are in development.
Clear trichomes can indicate a cannabis plant hasn’t reached it’s full cannabinoid potential.
Mostly cloudy trichomes can indicate a higher THC content with a lower CBN content. This will more than likely produce a heady energetic high.
Mostly amber trichomes can indicate a higher CBN content, which is a degradation product of THC. This will likely produce more of a body high with sleep inducing qualities.
Cloudy Amber Mix
A mix of amber & cloudy trichomes can produce elements of both a head high & a body high. You can experiment to see what suits you best.
